Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library
Why is this change happening?
Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library is always on the lookout for new & exciting opportunities to provide a great service experience. The executive decision to launch cloudLibrary™ as BWG Library’s go-to platform for eBooks & eAudiobooks is data-driven and informed. We acknowledge that the landscape for digital content consumption is rapidly changing as are consumer needs and expectations. Based on valuable feedback from our membership, we also know that there is an increasing demand for more: more titles, more copies, and more content overall.
You asked, we listened, and cloudLibrary™ is our best answer. Thanks to a continuously expanding cloudLinking consortium, BWG Library members can beneļ¬t from a rapidly growing collection with greater selection and more ‘available now’ titles to choose from. With the goal of developing a larger digital collection alongside other participating cloudLinked libraries, we will strive to provide our valued members with more digital content and an improved service experience with cloudLibrary™.

Libby
At this point, Libby is no longer available to the BWG Library. Almost 1,000 titles were solely purchased by BWG Library and have been transferred from Libby over to cloudLibrary. We have also purchased approximately 1,000 items for the new cloudLibrary collection. Now that we are linked with the province-wide consortium of libraries, we have access to over 120,000 titles.
Is Libby still available?
No. Libby is no longer available. cloudLibrary™ is currently available and we encourage you to try it out.
Will my holds be automatically transferred from Libby to cloudLibrary™?
No. Your holds from Libby are unable to be automatically transferred to cloudLibrary™. We encourage you to switch over to cloudLibrary™ to start placing holds on titles. If the title you’re looking for isn’t in our collection, you can let us know by suggesting a title for purchase.
Will my reading history be automatically transferred from Libby to cloudLibrary™?
No. Your reading history in Libby will not be automatically transferred to cloudLibrary™. If you want to keep your reading history, you will need to copy this information and save it elsewhere.

FAQ
How many items can I check out in cloudLibrary™ at one time?
Up to 5 items.
How many holds can I place in cloudLibrary at one time?
Up to 5 items.
How long can I borrow an item for in cloudLibrary™?
Up to 21 days. After this time period, your item will automatically expire.
How do I renew a borrowed item in cloudLibrary?
If the item is eligible for renewal, a "Renew" button will appear for the item under "My Books" in the cloudLibrary web platform and mobile apps. An item that is on hold for another user is not eligible for renewal. In this case, if you want to borrow the item again, you will need to place a hold once your loan has expired.
How do I return a borrowed item in cloudLibrary?
In the cloudLibrary web platform or mobile app, go to "My Books" and click on the "Return" button for the item (located under the "Read" button).
Why do some titles ‘disappear’ in cloudLibrary™?
BWG Library has partnered with public libraries across Ontario to form a cloudLinking consortium. Basically, cloudLinking allows participating libraries to pool eBook & eAudiobook collections together on cloudLibrary™, providing a greater selection of titles and more ‘available now’ copies to library cardholders. The reason why some titles may seem to ‘disappear’ in cloudLibrary™ is because they belong to another library within the consortium and have been borrowed. These titles will reappear once they are returned and available to borrow again. All BWG Library owned titles remain visible, borrowable, and holdable on cloudLibrary™ regardless of their availability status.
How do I suggest a title for purchase in cloudLibrary?
Can’t find what you're searching for? Let us know! To suggest e-books and e-audiobooks, we encourage you to submit your purchase suggestion through cloudLibrary in the following ways:
- In the cloudLibrary web platform, select the Menu (three lines) in the upper left corner of the screen. Click "Filters," then select "Suggest to Library." Now you can click ‘Browse’ under the Menu to see all titles available to suggest, or tap the "Search" field to search for a title. When you find a title, click on the "Suggest to Library" button.
- In the cloudLibrary mobile app, go to the "Browse" menu, select the "Suggestions for Library" view under "Filters," search for your title or browse under "All," and click on the "Suggest to Library" button.
When a title you suggested is purchased for the collection, it will become available for you to borrow just like a hold.
All purchase suggestions are evaluated according to the library's Collection Policy and procedures, including demand, quality, and budget. BWG Library values your feedback and encourages you to suggest titles for purchase, however we regret that we are unable to purchase every title suggested.
