Seniors Stories of BWG
Share your story! Be a part of history!
Do you have a story to tell? A memory to share? A photo to show and be remembered?
Seniors Stories of BWG aims to preserve and share the unique personal stories of BWG residents age 55 and older.
Local seniors can submit their stories in any format (including writing, audio, video, art, and photography) to be featured in an exhibit both in the Library and online.
Submitted stories will be preserved in the Local History Collection for future generations to learn from and enjoy!
What kinds of stories?
Stories can include:
- Portraits of loved ones
- Memories from your childhood
- Photos of your garden
- Interviews with your friends
- Your favourite spot in Town
- How you came to BWG
- A favourite recipe
- Videos of your daily life

Free from Canadian Hearing Services
Canadian Hearing Services offers free counselling services and supports to people aged 55 and over who have hearing loss, to help improve communication with family, friends, and service providers; stay involved in social activities; and remain safe and independent at home.
Services are provided by hearing care counsellors in an accessible and safe environment, including home visits, in office appointments, or virtually.

Especially for those 55 and older, Seniors Stories of BWG returns with workshops to help you share your unique stories.
Under 55? You're welcome to join us.
All the workshops are free. Registration is required.
You are welcome to take part in the workshops without obligation to contribute your stories to the Seniors Stories project.
Building Blocks of Photography
Fridays: February 7 & 14 • 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Bradford-based photographer Jim Craigmyle leads this two-part workshop introducing the building blocks of photography for seniors. Come with your own camera, or practice with a lender camera at the Library.

Podcasting 101
Saturday, February 8 • 1 - 2:30 p.m.
In this ninety-minute presentation, Lead Podcast Founder Amanda Cupido shares an introduction to podcasting: what it is, where to find them, how to make them, and the power of audio storytelling.

Mixed Media/Collage
Saturday, February 15 • 12 - 2 p.m.
Mixed media artist Sheresha McIntyre leads this workshop to help you express yourself and your story using the medium of collage. Materials will be provided. If you wish to bring your own materials, make sure to photocopy them in advance!

Fridays: February 21 and 28 • 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Jim Craigmyle leads this two-part workshop introducing how to take a compelling portrait photograph with a shoe-string budget. Come with your own camera, or practice with a lender camera at the Library. Learn easy ways to create the setting for a beautiful portrait!

Photographer Jim Craigmyle leads this one-off workshop on navigating photo editing software to enhance your photographs. The focus of the workshop will be on an introduction to Adobe Photoshop.
