Sensory Support Kits

Planning a trip to a bustling restaurant or shopping center? Do you have a friend or family member who struggles with sensory overload? Borrow a Sensory Support Kit to help them self-regulate and stay calm in stressful situations. 

 

These kits can be invaluable in preventing sensory meltdowns or shutdowns, and they can also provide comfort to individuals on the spectrum. Each kit contains a variety of items designed to reduce stress and anxiety, promote learning, and offer comfort.  

 

Developed by Autism Canada, these kits are available for borrowing at the library. 

 

The Sensory Support Kit, housed in a red lightweight backpack, includes: 

• User Guide 

• Noise-reducing ear covers 

• Push-pop bubble game 

• Fidget spinner 

• Soft squeeze ball 

• Tinted safety glasses 

• Fleece blanket 

• Plush bear 

• Sensory book 

• Clorox wipes 

 

Sensory Support Kits are available for 3-week loans, and may be renewed up to 5 times.
