Reading Buddies Volunteer
About the Role: Support young readers in our community by becoming a mentor. You will be paired with a child in Grades 1–5 to help them build confidence and develop a love for reading. Through shared stories and literacy-based activities, you’ll help make learning a fun and positive experience for a student who may be struggling.
Skills You'll Gain: You'll develop strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills while making a direct impact on a child's academic journey. This role is perfect for volunteers who are patient, encouraging, and passionate about literacy.
Time Commitment: This program runs for 9 weeks. The commitment is 45 minutes per week (Wednesdays from 4:30 – 5:15 p.m.) for the duration of the session.
Kids Program Volunteer
About the Role: Help out at our special programs and events for kids, including PA Day, Winter, and March Break activities. You'll work with library staff to set up, assist children with crafts and activities, and help with clean-up.
Skills You'll Gain: You'll get hands-on experience working with children in a fun, positive environment. We're looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic, proactive, and ready to jump in and help.
Time Commitment: This is a flexible role with a time commitment of about 2-3 hours per program.
Tinker Time Volunteer Currently Full
About the Role: Love tech? Join our Tinker Time team and help kids explore cool gadgets like Ozobots, Dash and Dot, and Lego Boost. You'll assist library staff and guide kids through fun, hands-on activities.
Skills You'll Need: We're looking for volunteers who are curious and eager to learn new things. You don't need to be an expert, just have a genuine interest in technology and a willingness to work with kids.
Time Commitment: You'll volunteer for two hours, on two Saturdays each month.
