Patrons may reserve a laptop through the library catalogue by searching “Dell Laptop”. Each patron is permitted to borrow one laptop at a time for 3 weeks with no renewals.
-
Patrons who are 18+ and have a valid adult BWGPL card, may borrow a laptop. If the patron currently doesn’t have a library card, they can apply for a new membership.
-
The library checks all ports, connections, keyboards, and casings for damage prior to loaning a laptop and performs the same check upon return of the device. Any damages identified will be charged to the patron.
-
Laptops do not have built-in Wi-Fi but are Wi-Fi enabled allowing you to connect to area hotspots (ie/ free internet at coffee shops, restaurants) and home internet. Patrons can also reserve a Mi-Fi hotspot from the library allowing them to connect to the internet anywhere there is cellular service.
-
Patrons will not be able to save files to the laptop and must use a USB for storage. Any saved information will automatically be cleared each time the laptop is shut down and/ or restarted.

Staff will be checking right away in front of the borrower to ensure the unit is in working order, has no physical damage and that all accessories have been returned. This may take a few minutes. Please ensure the laptop battery is not drained as this will add to your wait time.
