Welcome back

_

The BWG Library will be offering Browse and Go Service beginning Friday, September 4.  In order to comply with government regulations and keep our community safe, BWG Library staff will be taking the following precautions:

  • BWG Library staff will be wearing personal protective equipment and following enhanced cleaning protocols.
  • Visitors to the BWG Library will be required to wear face masks that cover the nose and mouth. Borrowers who are unable to wear a face covering will be required to answer the standard questions, as mandated by the government, and the Library will offer walk-up service, as well as printing and photocopying services.
  • Social distancing will be maintained.
  • Increased cleaning of facilities.
  • Quarantining of heavily browsed items and returned materials.
  • To allow everyone who wants to visit the Library to access our materials and resources safely, BWG Library staff will monitor visitor capacity and limit visits to 30 minutes.
  • No food or drink are allowed in the Library at this time.
  • Self-checkout is preferred in order to limit contact.
  • Fines will not be charged, however load periods will be enforced.

These steps are being taken after many internal planning meetings, guidance from provincial and local officials, consulting other library systems and conferring with local experts.  We appreciate your support and encouragement and look forward to serving you in the Library when our doors reopen in September.

Computer Use

_

Computers will continue to be available in two locations of our Library: The Computer Lab and the Café, which have both been reconfigured to allow for social distancing.  Computer sessions will be 30-minutes per person per day, with the computers in the Café area offering the possibility of one 30-minute extension, depending on capacity and computer demand. These limits are to allow for COVID-19 related cleaning and to ensure equal access to the internet. Borrowers will be asked to use hand sanitizer prior to using a computer.

Meeting Rooms

_

All meeting and study rooms will remain closed at this time. As restrictions to the number of members of the public in our building eases, we will explore opportunities to expand these services.

Programming

_

The Library will continue to provide virtual programs, since regulations regarding the number of people in the building and proximity of people in meeting rooms restrict the staff’s ability to run inclusive and accessible programming in the Library at this time.
